Minimum Requirements
The following minimum requirements are needed to qualify for a degree. Life experience is any experience you have relevant to your major and is separate from work experience and classroom education. Depending upon the particular circumstance, military experience qualifies as either work or life experience.
In order to comply with licensing guidelines, universities must adhere to the following minimum requirements. If you don't meet the minimum requirements for the degree you're interested in, don't apply for it.
ASSOCIATE DEGREE
Requires 60 credits.
You qualify for an Associate Degree if you have one of the following:
—Three years work/life experience related to your major.
—Two years work/life experience related to your major and 30 college credits.
—Any combination of the above or substantial work/life experience.
You may apply for a combination of any two degrees ONLY IF you meet the minimum requirements for each degree.
BACHELOR DEGREE
Requires 120 credits.
You qualify for a Bachelor Degree if you have one of the following:
—Four years work/life experience related to your major and 30 college credits.
—Three years work/life experience related to your major and 60 college credits.
—Two years work/life experience related to your major and 90 college credits.
—Any combination of the above or substantial work/life experience.
You may apply for a combination of any two degrees ONLY IF you meet the minimum requirements for each degree.
MASTER DEGREE (including MBA and MSW)
Requires 60 credits.
A bachelor degree is not required for persons with extensive experience in any field directly related to the major.
You may qualify for a Master degree if you have one of the following:
—Two years work/life experience related to your major and a bachelor degree.
—Five years work/life experience related to your major and an associate degree.
—Eight years work/life experience related to your major, two of which must be at a junior or senior executive level.
—Any combination of the above or substantial work/life experience.
You may apply for a combination of any two degrees ONLY IF you meet the minimum requirements for each degree.
DOCTORATE DEGREE
Requires 38 credits.
A master degree is normally a prerequisite for the doctorate degree.
You qualify for a Doctorate degree if you have one of the following:
—Two years work/life experience in your field and a master degree.
—More than ten years work/life experience in your field.
—Any combination of the above or considerable life/work experience.
You may apply for a combination of any two degrees ONLY IF you meet the minimum requirements for each degree.
Grade Point Average
The University issues grades on a Grade Point Average System. Students must achieve a Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 2.0 or better in order to graduate from an under-graduate degree programme, or a G.P.A. of 3.00 or better to graduate from a graduate level degree programme.
Graduating With Honors
Students will graduate with honours if they have completed the minimum required semester hours of credit from Cheshire University, with a minimum 3.33 grade point average.
3.8 - 4.0 GPA: Summa Cum Laude
3.6 - 3.79 GPA: Magna Cum Laude
3.33 - 3.59 GPA: Cum Laude
Honors will be indicated on the graduate's transcript and diploma
Concurrent/Double Degrees
Cheshire University will admit qualified individuals, not having a Bachelor Degree, to a Concurrent Bachelor/Master Degree Programme, if the student has completed at least 87% of the course work necessary for a Bachelor Degree. The student will be required to satisfy a minimum of sixty (60) credit hours of the 120 credit hours required for the Bachelor Degree with Cheshire University, and prior to beginning work on his/her Masters Programme.
Concurrent Master/Doctorate Degree Programme*
Cheshire University will admit qualified individuals, not having a Masters Degree, to a Concurrent Master/Doctorate Degree Programme, if the student has satisfied a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours of the fifty-four (54) credit hours required for the Masters Degree. The student will be required to satisfy a minimum of forty-five (45) credit hours of the fifty-four (54) credit hours required for the Masters Degree with Cheshire University, and prior to beginning work on his/her Doctorate Programme.
